Macau's Big Bet on Non-Gaming Elements

Macau, the world's largest gambling hub, has decided to diversify its offerings from just being a traditional casino hub to providing non-gaming elements to its customers. This move is seen by industry experts as a strategic one aimed at attracting a broader spectrum of customers.

Revitalisation Projects within Macau

The plan, which is set to be rolled out after its reopening in 2023, involves the transformation of specific areas within Macau. According to Joji Kokuryo, MD of industry consultancy Bay City Ventures Ltd., this project represents a reshaping of the online gambling industry in Macau. “The most literal examples of this reshaping are the revitalization projects of specific locations within Macau,” he said. This shift from traditional gaming elements to a model that focuses on non-gaming elements signifies a shift in the iGaming industry.

Role of Non-Gaming Elements

By diversifying their offerings, CasinoALMA and other casinos in Macau hope to attract different types of patrons beyond the usual gamblers. This could include tourists looking for entertainment, dining, shopping, and other experiences that go beyond just gaming. Given that non-gaming elements have proven to be successful in other markets, Macau appears to be taking a cue from other online casino ventures and evolving with the times.
