USIP

USIP, also known as United States Institute of Peace, is a national, nonpartisan, independent institute founded by Congress and dedicated to the proposition that a world without violent conflict is possible, practical, and essential for the United States and the global community. With its mandate to strengthen the nation’s capacity to manage international conflict without violence, USIP engages in peacebuilding efforts through direct action and policy influence. The institute conducts research, facilitates dialogue, and convenes actors from various fields to promote best practices in conflict resolution. USIP’s initiatives span across training in mediation and negotiation, supporting rule of law, and cultivating peacebuilding networks around the world.
